The autopsy performed on the 12-year-old boy named Lian Torelli, whose lifeless body was found in the city of Salto, Buenos Aires, determined that he died from drowning. According to the preliminary report from the forensic experts in Chivilcoy, no signs of struggle were found, which led investigators to rule out a possible violent incident. It was established that Lian's death was caused by submersion, coinciding with the last time he was seen at the municipal beach.

The victim's body was found stuck in the water, among pieces of masonry and metal, according to the forensic report. Lian had last been seen on Sunday at the municipal beach, a place he often visited with relatives. According to his mother, the boy was heading from that location to his father's house but never arrived. More than 170 personnel, drones, dogs, helicopters, divers, rescuers, and a team of psychologists participated in the search.

The investigation is overseen by prosecutor Lisandro Masson, head of the Fiscal Instruction Unit (UFI) number four of the Judicial Department of Mercedes. Salto is a small city with 25,000 inhabitants, located approximately 190 kilometers northwest of Buenos Aires City.
