Disappearance of a 12-year-old boy in Salto

In the city of Salto, located about 190 kilometers northwest of Buenos Aires, a 12-year-old boy has disappeared, generating great concern in the 25,000-inhabitant community. The case of Lian Torelli, the missing minor since last Sunday, has mobilized local security forces who are working hard to find his whereabouts.

The search operations, involving personnel from the Prefecture, the Bonaerense Police, and firefighters, have concentrated in the area of the municipal beach, a place frequented by the young boy and his family. Despite the ground and river searches in the Salto River, no positive results have been obtained so far.

The boy's mother reported that Lian was last seen at the municipal beach before heading to his father's house, but he never arrived at his destination. Although the report had not been filed, the police began to intervene officially due to the seriousness of the situation. According to the minor's aunt in statements to a local television media, "if he fell into the water or someone took him away."

Lian's disappearance has shocked the residents of Salto, especially due to the similarity with a previous case of a missing child in Corrientes. While search efforts continue and there are hopes of clarifying the whereabouts of the minor, uncertainty and anguish overwhelm the local community.
