Personnel from the 'Chalican' Section of Squad 60 'San Pedro' were conducting preventive work on National Route No. 34 when they stopped a vehicle type remís coming from Aguas Blancas, Salta, heading to the capital city of Salta. During a physical and documentary check, the gendarmes noticed anomalies in the body morphology of a Bolivian man and woman, which led them to contact the Federal Prosecutor's Office of Jujuy.
After deepening the inspection with the support of the narcotics detection dog 'Lev', cylindrical capsules were found in a backpack, which led to a thorough search of the passengers. The officials proceeded while respecting the dignity of the detainees and found pills adhered to the woman's body, which turned out to be cocaine after a preliminary examination by the security forces. A total of 188 capsules were seized, containing approximately 2 kilograms and 299 grams of the illegal substance.
'The results of the Preliminary Examination for Drug Orientation of the Force yielded a positive result for cocaine,' confirmed the relevant authorities after the discovery. Those involved were detained by order of the Judicial Magistrate in charge of the case.
