
The Ministry of Public Health of Salta shared data provided by the General Directorate of Epidemiological Coordination on various diseases under their surveillance. To date, several figures have been reported concerning different pathologies.
Regarding immunopreventable diseases, no cases of mumps have been reported so far this year, with a total of 1 case. There have also been no cases of measles, Exanthematous Febrile Illness, diphtheria, or poliomyelitis. In the case of leprosy, no reported cases have occurred. Additionally, no cases of deep mycosis have been reported.
Concerning zoonotic diseases, 32 cases of dog bites have been reported, considered as potentially rabid accidents (PRA), distributed across various locations in the region. Furthermore, there have been no recorded cases of brucellosis or hydatidosis. Regarding diseases such as hantavirus and leptospirosis, no cases have been reported either.
In the realm of respiratory viruses, the last week saw cases of different infections, including influenza, bronchiolitis in children under 2 years, pneumonia, and COVID-19. Regarding foodborne diseases, no cases of salmonellosis, infant botulism, or hemolytic uremic syndrome have been reported.
On another note, one case of leishmaniasis in its mucosal/cutaneous variant has been confirmed, totaling one case so far this year. In terms of human visceral leishmaniasis, no cases have been recorded. In the sphere of diseases such as meningoencephalitis, 4 cases have been confirmed, with 1134 affected individuals in the last epidemiological week.
These figures reflect the current epidemiological situation in Salta, where 2572 cases of acute diarrhea have been reported so far in January.
