The crime occurred in June 2023 when Cecilia went to the house of her in-laws, where she was supposed to meet her husband. "I believe we will have a verdict on Friday," the lawyer stated regarding the trial against the Sena clan at the Judicial Studies Center, located at Juan B. Justo 42. On Monday, testimony was given by Francisco Rodolfo Ríos, the owner of a field in Campo Rossi Sur, adjacent to a property owned by César Sena, Emerenciano, and Marcela Acuña, according to the Diario Norte portal. The witness confirmed that the accused couple and Melgarejo shared an asado and "countless beers" on June 2, 2023 (the day of Cecilia's disappearance): "We had met two or three months prior, and we arranged to get together and share something. A camera recorded her entry, but not her exit, and that was the last time she was seen alive. Although the young woman's body has not yet been found, investigators believe that she was murdered in the house that afternoon, her remains were transported to the family's pigsty, burned, and then scattered in different areas of the Emerenciano neighborhood.
