Argentine authorities have intercepted a truck transporting over a ton of marijuana. This morning, at the General Belgrano Bridge in the city of Resistencia, Chaco province, a driver was arrested. According to the National Gendarmerie, the vehicle was stopped on National Route 16, at the border between Chaco and Corrientes provinces, during a routine inspection. The driver's nervous behavior during the check raised suspicions, prompting a thorough search. Officials found 1,646 rectangular packages hidden beneath empty fruit crates. The total weight of the seized marijuana was 1,198.888 kg. A rapid field test confirmed the substance was cannabis sativa. The Federal Unit of Resistencia ordered the seizure of the drug, as well as a firearm and 39 ammunition, and the arrest of the driver.
