Buenos Aires, March 23 (NA) – A 27-year-old young man, who was a fugue for an attempted homicide, was arrested after fleeing a vehicle checkpoint in the Buenos Aires party of Quilmes. Officers of the Naval Prefecture were carrying out saturation operations at the intersection of Ceferino Namuncurá and Andrés Barranda, where they detected a gray Volkswagen Surán, whose occupants refused to be identified and fled, according to police sources reported to the Argentine News Agency. The Quilmes Police began a chase that extended until the entrance to the Los Álamos neighborhood, where three suspects got out of the vehicle and fled on foot, but the authorities subdued one of them, named YJM. Subsequently, the officers searched the interior of the vehicle and confiscated three cell phones, dark clothing, and several plastic ties intertwined as handcuffs, objects used to immobilize victims of robberies known as 'entraderas.' In this context, it was found that the license plates did not match the engine and chassis numbers, and that they had an active seizure request for a crime committed in the locality of Berazategui on March 5. The officials accessed the computer system and verified that YJM had a valid arrest warrant for an attempted homicide that occurred in 2022, at the request of the Oral Court No. 4 of the Quilmes Judicial Department. UFI No. 5 ordered his apprehension for 'motor vehicle theft concealment' and revoked his house arrest.
