Motorcyclist Killed in Argentina by Parade Rope

A motorcyclist was practically decapitated this Saturday in the locality of Quilmes Oeste after hitting a rope that was blocking traffic for the passage of a murga parade.

The tragic episode occurred in the vicinity of October 12 Avenue and 390 Street, when the victim was circulating with his son and encountered the restraining element, which would not have been properly signposted. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the commune and a group of neighbors had placed a rope to block the street, which impacted the driver's neck, causing a terrible wound that cost him his life almost instantly.

The victim's son, who was traveling as a passenger in the vehicle, was also injured during the accident and had to be assisted by medical personnel at the scene. Due to the magnitude of the event and the commotion among those present, the organization determined that the carnival activity scheduled for today on October 12 Avenue would be completely suspended.

Police officers and experts worked in the area to determine legal liabilities for the placement of the obstacle on the public road that led to the fatal outcome.
