Nahir Galarza, the young woman sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her boyfriend Fernando Pastorizzo in Entre Ríos, has left prison, surprising many with the news. On that day, back in 2017, Galarza shot her boyfriend twice in the back on General Paz Street in Entre Ríos, where his body was found next to his motorcycle. On July 3, 2018, Nahir was found criminally responsible for the crime of aggravated homicide due to the relationship, and it was ruled out that the victim had exercised violence against the defendant. She is the youngest woman in Argentine judicial history to receive such a sentence (19 years, 7 months, and 21 days). According to confirmation from the Argentine News Agency, the reason for her transfer was to visit her sick grandmother. The Entre Ríos court confirmed the life sentence for Nahir Galarza. In recent hours, it has emerged that Galarza left the Unit No. 6 Penitentiary in Paraná and was transferred to the city of Gualeguaychú to say goodbye to her maternal grandmother, who suffers from a terminal oncological illness. Her release came after a special request from the young woman's defense due to the close relationship between the accused and her grandmother. After reviewing the request, the Justice system granted her permission to leave prison for a few hours to greet her relative. 'It was under extreme secrecy and strict security measures,' commented local journalist Carlos Challiol in dialogue with NA. In this context, the authorization was for a single occasion, and the operation was carried out at the home where Galarza's grandmother is staying.
