A 42-year-old man was arrested for drugging and stealing from his patients whom he was supposed to care for in the Buenos Aires locality of Moreno. The individual was already facing charges for two similar robberies, the first of which occurred in October of the previous year in an apartment on Soler at 4000, in Palermo, where he worked as a caregiver. On that occasion, the resident discovered the absence of money, jewelry, and the rearrangement of certain items after allegedly being administered a sedative that left him asleep.
The investigation into this individual was initiated by the intervening prosecutor's office and the North Robberies and Thefts Division of the City Police. In November, they received another complaint regarding a similar incident at a house on San Nicolás at 1800, in the Villa Santa Rita neighborhood, where the caregiver was again involved. Due to the similarities in both crimes and the presence of the same suspect, the cases were consolidated.
Detectives began searching for the nurse by tracking his movements on social media and phone communications, which revealed that he resided in a house in Moreno. Once located, a search warrant was obtained from the National Criminal and Correctional Court 2, led by Dr. Manuel Gorostiaga, Secretary 107. During the search of the residence, the individual was arrested.
Additionally, a mobile phone and relevant items for the investigation were seized, including documentation related to the victims, such as an insurance policy of one of the affected individuals that is believed to have been taken by the accused among the stolen possessions.
