The street vendor assisted by Lucas Aguiar, a young delivery man killed in Moreno, said that Lucas saved him: "The murderer went straight to kill him," he assured. In an interview with Alfredo Casado on Radio Splendid, Leonardo Merollo detailed that Lucas's killer was determined to kill someone, and he could have been the victim.
"I can defend myself with my feet, because the first stab he gave me wasn't as deep as the one he gave to Lucas, who was caught off guard," Merollo recounted about the tragic event. Furthermore, he pointed out that the murderer seemed unbalanced: "This man had already tried to kill, he was crazy, and someone for a few pesos surely hired him to do it... I believe this killer was sent to kill someone and to draw attention."
Merollo also mentioned that he had not been able to communicate with Lucas's family, except for one of his friends: "No, I couldn't get in touch with Lucas's family. I only spoke with one of the guys, who was his friend." The vendor concluded by recalling the moment the aggressor tried to attack him: "He came straight to kill me. He stabbed me and I tried to defend myself as best as I could."
