A cinematic police chase through the central streets of Morón ended with three criminals being arrested after the car they were using to escape crashed into two vehicles, trapping one of the suspects inside. The incident began on Huaura Street at number 100, when a neighbor alerted 911 to a suspicious man entering a property while a gray Chevrolet Onix waited at the entrance with two accomplices. Upon the arrival of patrol officers, the criminals attempted to flee at high speed, leading to a chase that spanned several blocks and involved various police units. The escape came to an abrupt end at the intersection of Doctor Monte and Luis María Campos streets, where the geography and traffic prevented the vehicle from proceeding. Police confiscated burglary tools and fake license plates. The detainees were identified as Luis Eduardo Maestre, 24, of Venezuelan nationality; Brian Oscar Albarracín, 27, an Argentine; and Alexis Fari Figueroa Montoya, 50, a Peruvian. A search of the vehicle revealed that the Chevrolet Onix had a fake license plate and, according to the window etchings, was under an active theft recovery order since February 24 in the La Matanza jurisdiction. In the trunk, officers found a 'lockout kit' consisting of gloves, screwdrivers, a tripod key, and an automatic screwdriver, in addition to fake license plates and cash. The prosecutor, Adriana Suárez Corripio, ordered the formal detention of the three men on charges of 'aggravated cover-up and aggravated theft by breaking and entering, as it was committed in a populated area and as a group.' Investigators are also analyzing the participation of this gang in a similar robbery that recently occurred in the town of Castelar.
