Three criminals accused of murdering an 18-year-old girl during a robbery in La Reja, Buenos Aires province, have been arrested following an operation that combined fieldwork and intelligence. The incident that initiated the investigation occurred on December 13, 2024, when the victim and her boyfriend were attacked by a group of six criminals at the intersection of Avenida de la Ribera and Calle Santa Teresa.
According to the police report, the assailants threatened the couple with firearms, causing them to fall to the ground and the young woman suffered a severe abdominal injury that resulted in a fatal internal hemorrhage despite medical efforts to save her. The Functional Unit of Instruction and Trial of Moreno - General RodrÃguez, under the direction of Carina Vanesa Saucedo, assigned the Homicide personnel of the Federal Police to resolve the case.
After a thorough analysis of audiovisual evidence and social media, all suspects were identified, revealing their membership in a criminal organization specialized in the theft and resale of motorcycles. This led to the issuance of seven search warrants in Merlo, where three of the implicated individuals were captured, four motorcycles (two of which were under search and capture), garments used in the crime, and five cell phones were seized.
The Special Federal Operations Group (GEOF) collaborated in the operation due to the dangerousness of the detainees, aged 22, 25, and 28, who are now facing a charge of homicide in the course of robbery. The seized items and the suspects were placed at the disposal of the court headed by Gabriel Castro to continue with the legal process.
