Man Killed in Argentina Carnival Shooting

In the city of Mercedes, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, 18-year-old Brian Cabrera was killed during Carnival celebrations. An autopsy revealed he suffered cranioencephalic injuries from a gunshot wound to the back of his head. Three individuals have been detained and charged. According to the investigation, the bullet recovered from the victim matches the .22 caliber revolver found at the crime scene. Prosecutor Matías Lattaro charged María Luján Aiza, 33, as the perpetrator of 'aggravated homicide by firearm.' Her son, Martín Ezequiel Auza, 19, and Omar Auza, 54, were named as primary accomplices. The incident began when a conflict broke out between a young man and three others. One of them drew a gun and fired into the air before handing it to his wife. Cabrera then appeared to defend his brother, the other party in the conflict. However, the accused woman and the 19-year-old opened fire on Brian with clear intent to kill, leaving him gravely wounded and fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead after surgery.
