
The winemaking activity in Argentina spans 18 provinces, with 856 active wineries by the end of 2024. The country occupies a prominent position globally in the wine industry, being the 9th largest consumer, the 8th producer, and the 11th largest exporter by volume. In this context, an investment of 120 million dollars in the sector is anticipated.
During 2024, Argentine wine exports reached 933 million dollars, covering various forms of wine, concentrated grape juice, raisins, and fresh grapes. This industry not only contributes to the country's economy but also plays an integral part in its culture and tradition, generating a recognized identity internationally.
At an event organized by the Argentine Wine Corporation (COVIAR), the importance of wine on the tables of Argentinians and the projection of the country brand through this product were emphasized. More than a thousand people, including government authorities, legislators, businessmen, and producers, gathered at this meeting.
Agreements have been signed with various entities such as the Federal Investment Council, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Tourism Secretariat, with the aim of boosting wine tourism in Argentina and establishing a Wine Development Center in Jujuy. These actions seek to promote the sustainable growth of the sector.
Regarding the oil industry, the company PCR has acquired deposits in Mendoza, highlighting their quality on a global scale. An investment of one billion dollars is projected for the construction of a final plant, with the first development phase scheduled to be completed by the end of the current year.
The strategic vision of the winemaking sector aims to enhance innovation, sustainable development, and the integration of the entire production chain. Argentina is consolidating itself as a central player in the world of winemaking, with growth prospects and projection on the international stage.
