In the Buenos Aires town of Luján, police have detained an 18-year-old youth and a 16-year-old teenager accused of robbing a man of his motorcycle. According to police sources, the criminal gang is dedicated to committing home invasions. The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 3rd, when the victim, 49-year-old Marcos Gabriel Escobedo, was riding his red and white Honda XR 190cc motorcycle towards the town of Mercedes. He was approached by two motorcycle thieves who threatened him with a firearm to steal the vehicle. The perpetrators fled on the stolen motorcycle, leading the victim to file a complaint. Officers from the DDI-SDD Luján conducted an investigation and identified the suspects: 18-year-old Tobias Jonas Romero and a 16-year-old identified as M.B.M. Police also verified the suspects' address, and a judge ordered a raid. The operation took place at a residence on Calle Capitán Luján 151, where the arrests were made. Authorities recovered the stolen motorcycle and seized a bulletproof vest carrier without ballistic plates marked 'Police', a .32 caliber Llanero revolver with a box of 13 intact cartridges and three spent casings, a helmet, clothing worn during the incident, and an ignition key. The UFI No. 8 ordered the apprehension of both individuals, who are now in custody for the crimes of 'aggravated robbery and illegal possession of a civilian firearm.' Investigators believe the criminal organization commits home invasions to steal cars and other vehicles, while intimidating victims with pistols.
