Luján Municipality Advances River Reforestation Plan

The Municipality of Luján reported on the progress of the Comprehensive Tree Plan, which includes park-making actions along the Luján River. These actions are part of an environmental and urban agenda focused on the recovery and care of public spaces. According to the Argentine News Agency, the interventions include the introduction of native species and the conditioning of the riverside environment, with tasks aimed at sustaining the growth of the tree cover and its adaptation to the local soil and climate. In this context, plantings of tala, ceibo, sen del campo, sauco, river alder, and coronillo were mentioned, along with complementary actions related to the maintenance of the green area. The tasks are part of a municipal strategy for urban landscape ordering, which seeks to increase tree coverage and improve air quality in areas with high attendance and recreational use. The local Executive emphasized that the plan is not limited to planting: it includes monitoring, irrigation, and replacement, in order to sustain the medium-term impact and avoid losses due to water stress or vandalism. The Municipality anticipated that it will continue with new stages of the plan in other points of the district, coordinating park-making tasks with urban maintenance interventions in the riverside corridor.
