The incident occurred on Thursday evening at the intersection of Martín Rodríguez and Perdomo streets. Lucas Adrián Gómez, a police officer from the City's Special Highway Division, fired shots that resulted in the death of a young man. According to the surviving young man, he and the deceased were on their way to a soccer match when they noticed they were being followed by two men on a motorcycle. The motorcycle suddenly stopped, and its rider began shooting. Officer Gómez, suspecting he was being robbed, stopped, identified himself as a police officer, and fired two shots from his service weapon, injuring both young men. One of them, 20-year-old Juan Cruz Leal, was taken to Bicentenario Hospital in Ituzaingó, where, after remaining in critical condition for several hours, doctors confirmed his death early Friday morning. The other young man, 20-year-old Daniel Enrique Kuhne, was shot in the lateral chest area and was taken to Posadas Hospital with no life-threatening risk. Two spent casings from a 9mm weapon were found at the scene.
