
A criminal gang carried out a violent robbery that resulted in the death of a 55-year-old man, a former member of the Federal Police, on the access road of the West Highway in Ituzaingó. The tragic incident took place while the victim was waiting for his wife in front of a spa. When they attempted to steal his truck, a confrontation erupted that ended with the death of one of the criminals due to gunfire, who later died in a hospital in Ciudadela.
Officer Nardelli, armed with a Glock 9-millimeter pistol, defended himself against the assailants when they approached him while he was waiting in his Amarok truck. The victim's wife heard the shots, went outside, and found him with a chest wound. Despite being taken to Güemes Hospital in Haedo, he arrived lifeless.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old identified as Marcos Uriel Catalán was taken to Ramón Carrillo Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face, dying shortly after his admission. This criminal was transported by a 14-year-old teenager in a white Peugeot 308, who was arrested and is being investigated for possible involvement in the crime.
The assailants were using a stolen Citroën Cactus in Ciudadela, which was found with blood stains near the shooting scene. Subsequently, they stole a Ford Ranger from another victim and abandoned it burned in Fuerte Apache, where efforts are focused on locating the responsible parties.
Prosecutor María Alejandra Bonini leads the investigation, and the possibility of new arrests remains open in the coming hours.
