The mother of Ezequiel Altamira, Paola Eiroa, expressed that the Ituzaingó Prosecutor's Office has declared itself "incompetent" regarding her son's case without informing them. Eiroa pointed out that those accused of Ezequiel's murder have been detained for 180 days.
Additionally, Paola mentioned that she plans to carry out a awareness campaign in Ituzaingó this weekend, distributing photos of Ezequiel. She also plans to attend Congress on Saturday, March 1, to demand justice during the beginning of the Ordinary Sessions presided over by Javier Milei.
The case of Ezequiel Altamira occurred on October 26, when he and his friends were attacked by a group after leaving a bar in Ituzaingó. Although Ezequiel regained consciousness after the attack, he died hours later due to the injuries sustained.
Prosecutor Guillermo Rodríguez Rey has determined that a minor of 14 years struck Ezequiel with a brass knuckle, causing a severe head fracture that resulted in his death. The crime is categorized as "homicide in the course of robbery," with a sentence of 10 to 25 years in prison, but the accused would not be imprisoned due to being a minor.
Ezequiel's family and friends held a march to the Ituzaingó prosecutor's office to demand answers four months after his death. During the demonstration, traffic was blocked on Avenida Brandsen and Castelar to draw the attention of the authorities.
Paola Eiroa revealed that the investigation into her son's murder and the complaint against the municipal authorities and the bar are now being conducted in the Judicial Department of Morón, leaving the family awaiting updates on the process.
