Man who tried to kill his mother detained in Argentina

A 26-year-old man, who had an arrest warrant for attempted aggravated homicide due to kinship, was detained in Hurlingham, a year and a half after the episode in which he tried to kill his mother after arguing with her because he could not find a job and stabbed her.

According to police sources reported to the Argentine News Agency, the arrest took place during an operation supervised by the Ministry of National Security, with agents from the Federal Investigations Department (DFI) of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA).

The incident occurred in May 2022, when the aggressor and his mother became enraged at their family home, after she complained about his lack of interest in finding employment and contributing to household expenses.

As the woman urged him to change his attitude and warned him that if he did not find a job within a set period, he would have to leave the house, the young man hit her in the face until she was unconscious, then stabbed her repeatedly before fleeing the scene.

Following the complaint, the Guarantees Court No. 2 of the San Martín Judicial Department, under the charge of Dr. Carlos Mariano González, ordered the Fugitive Search Division of the PFA to locate the suspect.

Investigators managed to establish that the fugitive occasionally returned to his mother's home to demand money, based on intelligence tasks coordinated with the Unified Recapture and Evaded Command (CUFRE) under the Ministry of National Security.

The man was arrested at the intersection of Kierman and Bell Ville streets, in Villa Tesei, Hurlingham, as officers implemented a discreet surveillance in the area until they finally succeeded.

The apprehended individual was made available to the intervening magistrate, accused of the crime of 'Attempted Aggravated Homicide due to Kinship,' pending the corresponding judicial proceedings.
