In the Buenos Aires town of Hurlingham, a 20-year-old man was arrested for stealing a car at the intersection of Bulnes and José Bianco streets. The moment of the theft was captured by the cameras of a television channel that was broadcasting another criminal event live, where the thief was seen taking a Toyota Etios from a man delivering flowers at a residence.
The incident was discovered when a reporter covering the news asked the victim if he had been robbed of his car, to which he confirmed the vehicle theft. An immediate alert was sent to 911, and the 2nd Police Station of Hurlingham deployed a lockdown operation in the area. Shortly after, the authorities identified the criminal driving the Toyota Etios and began a chase that ended with the arrest of Franco José David Cañete at the intersection of Bruselotti and Ortega y Gasett streets.
"Did they just rob you, sir?" the reporter asked the affected man, who recounted how the young man had snatched the car while he was making a delivery. The swift police intervention allowed for the recovery of the vehicle and the arrest of the person responsible for the theft, who now faces the consequences of his actions.
