During the Carnival celebrations in Haedo, Buenos Aires province, multiple disturbances were recorded resulting in thefts and clashes between young people. Despite the seriousness of the events, the kiosk owner refused to file a formal complaint, leading the authorities to take action on their own.
In light of this situation, the Haedo Chamber of Commerce issued a statement condemning the acts of violence and vandalism, expressing its solidarity with those who suffered the consequences of the disturbances. Additionally, the theft of cell phones from two passersby was reported.
The deployment of police forces, along with municipal security personnel and traffic agents, failed to contain the situation due to the large number of people involved. The incidents, which went viral on social media, left several people injured and caused significant damage to a local kiosk.
According to preliminary reports, the situation began with a fight between two groups near a kiosk. Witnesses claim that some participants in the fight caused damage to a neighboring burger establishment, taking merchandise. The kiosk owner tried to protect his business but was injured, as was the son of a merchant who tried to help him.
"Unfortunately, the activity has been overshadowed by a group of violent individuals who caused damage and fear among merchants and neighbors," stated the Haedo Chamber of Commerce.
Sources from the Second Police Station of Morón reported that an investigation was initiated following the dissemination of a video documenting the disturbances. The incident occurred last Saturday, after a neighborhood parade authorized by the Municipality of Morón, at the intersection of Avenida Rivadavia and Estrada.
