Tapia Demands Clear Position from San Lorenzo on SAD Transformation

The president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, convened the San Lorenzo Board of Directors in Ezeiza and demanded a clear institutional stance regarding rumors of a potential move towards a Sports Public Limited Company (SAD) model. Additionally, Tapia requested an internal solution, set a deadline for after the weekend to present a definition, and emphasized that any measure must comply with the statute and current regulations, which do not permit the formation of an SAD in Argentine football. At the beginning of the meeting, Tapia stated he had information about a supposed firm linked to a project to transform San Lorenzo into a Sports Public Limited Company, according to sources reported by Noticias Argentinas. The big news was the appearance of former president Matías Lammens, who served from September 2012 to December 2019 and had not been deeply involved in the club's institutional life since before the end of his term. The director Manuel Agote was the cause of Tapia's anger, as, when protesting the presence of Moretti and Lammens in the same room, he decided to leave the meeting shouting 'traitor' at the former executive. In response, the AFA president stated that if the General Inspection of Justice (IGJ) intervenes in the club, San Lorenzo would be disaffiliated. When asked by director Ulises Morales about the scope of action of the Board of Directors, Tapia replied that the club has the freedom to resolve its future, always within the statutory restrictions that prevent the advancement of a private corporate scheme, and he maintained that the leadership must publicly clarify its position to avoid speculation that could affect institutional stability. The meeting lasted for approximately an hour. After Tapia's departure, the Board of Directors continued to deliberate in private, with the presence of Marcelo Moretti. Those attending the meeting were: Marcelo Moretti, Emiliano Rodríguez, Néstor Ortigoza, Sergio Costantino, Agote, Pablo Levalle, Leandro Goroyesky, Pablo García Lago, Sergio Tammer, Javier Allievi, Martín Cigna, Belén Lugones, Carina Farías, Horacio Arreceygor, Uriel Barros, Ulises Morales, Cristhian Evangelista, Damián Terzano, Soledas Boufflet, Lammens, Mateo Sagardoy, Mariano Marino and Marcelo Culotta.
