Drug Trafficking Network Dismantled in Ezeiza

The Airport Security Police (PSA) managed to dismantle a criminal network dedicated to drug trafficking within Complex IV of Ezeiza of the Federal Penitentiary Service. Following an extensive investigation that began in April of the previous year, seven operations were conducted within the prison and nine searches were carried out at homes, resulting in arrests and the seizure of drugs.

According to the PSA statement, it was discovered that the illegally obtained money was deposited in small amounts into various bank accounts, even using those of relatives and friends. It was also confirmed that the inmates resorted to strategies such as involving minors and pregnant women to introduce prohibited substances into the prison.

During the operation, PSA officers carried out seven procedures in six pavilions where the women under investigation were located, as well as in the visiting area of the Ezeiza prison. Simultaneously, nine searches were conducted in homes within the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires. In total, 12 inmates involved in the crime were arrested, along with another seven women and three men who were left uncommunicated.

The seizures included nearly two kilograms of marijuana, 30 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, methamphetamine, precision scales, cell phones, and documentation with detailed notes on drug transactions between the prisoners and the main suspect along with her accomplices.

The case was assigned to the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 1 of Lomas de Zamora, under the direction of Federico Hernán Villena.
