Ensenada Municipality Accelerates Rivadavia Road Reconstruction

The Municipality of Ensenada has accelerated the reconstruction of Camino Rivadavia, a central route for daily traffic between neighborhoods and the connection to La Plata, at an estimated rate of 60 to 80 meters per day. The work is being carried out from the point where the previous work ended and is advancing towards street 131 of Villa Catella, following the logic of completing one lane (towards La Plata) first and then intervening in the other to maintain traffic flow. According to information from the Argentine News Agency, this is a municipal investment aimed at improving road safety, travel times, and pavement conditions on a corridor that suffers from wear and tear due to heavy traffic and intense circulation. In the surrounding area, the project is also seen as a point of conflict and demand: cuts, detours, and signage, directly impacting public transport and the logistics of businesses. The local Executive branch maintains that the priority is to reduce accidents and recover a road that functions as a 'backbone' for the connection between residential areas and main accesses. The reconstruction of Camino Rivadavia is also part of a package of urban interventions that often revive the underlying discussion: how much is invested, where, and with what criteria.
