A scandal is unfolding in Corrientes province over the disappearance of Loan Peña. At the center of the attention are Governor Gustavo Valdés and other figures involved in the case. One of the key figures linked to the Codazzi case is Senator Diego Pellegrini, an ally of Valdés in the UCR (Radical Civic Union), who still holds a seat in the Chamber of Deputies. The investigation confirmed that Codazzi and Pellegrini traveled with Laudelina from Nueve de Julio to the city of Corrientes so that, after midnight, she could testify before a provincial prosecutor that Loan had been run over by the couple María Victoria Caillava and Carlos Pérez, who are linked to Valdés. The same happened with José Codazzi, who was once Laudelina's lawyer and is now also charged with the abduction and concealment of her nephew. After a photo of Valdés with Codazzi at a private meeting with friends went viral, a provincial leader spoke with the Argentine News Agency and explained: "Laudelina's lawyer knows Valdés." In Corrientes, everyone knows each other, they cross paths, eat together, and meet at asados (barbecues).
