In Córdoba, a school became the scene of a sit-in in support of the principal who was sanctioned by the institution's owners after reprimanding students who had shared intimate photos of a classmate. The sit-in began on Monday afternoon and ended on Tuesday night, with around 120 people, including students, teachers, and parents, gathered at the entrance of San José school to show solidarity with the principal and support her action against the minors.
Days prior, the principal had imposed sanctions on several students after discovering they were viewing and sharing intimate images of a classmate. The parents of the sanctioned students argued that their children had not shared those photos and demanded apologies for alleged "insults" received. The principal did not withdraw the sanctions, which led the school owners to revoke the students' reprimands and sanction the principal, arguing that her decision was disproportionate, resulting in her being suspended from her duties for 15 days without pay.
This situation caused unrest among the students and teachers of the institution, culminating in the sit-in. Although the sit-in was lifted hours later, there is still a silence regarding the principal's future and whether she will remain sanctioned or not. "We are seeing if a meeting can be arranged between the parties, the principal and the manager, to see if the sanction can be lifted and classes resumed, which is what we want," a teacher expressed, referring to the possibility of resolving the situation through dialogue.
