Cordobeses enAlerta Program Shows Significant Growth in 2025

In 2025, the Argentine 'Cordobeses enAlerta' program expanded to 144 neighborhoods, attracted over 106,000 residents, and processed more than 30,000 alerts. A quarter of them helped prevent crimes, leading to a 46.2% decrease in crime rates in covered areas.

Cordobeses enAlerta Program Shows Significant Growth in 2025

Buenos Aires, Jan. 19 (NA) – The Cordobeses enAlerta program, created in late 2024 by the provincial Ministry of Security, closed 2025 with territorial expansion and greater community participation, making it the main channel for citizen contact with the police and emergency systems. The program's annual report, accessed by the Argentine News Agency, highlights that 2025 ended with a total of 144 neighborhoods with the system and 106,072 registered neighbors. In turn, they added that 30,117 alerts were registered, showing a monthly growth. This figure reveals that 84.7% of reports came through WhatsApp, consolidating it as the main channel for citizen contact. 'The report highlights that the program maintains a markedly preventive profile: almost 8 out of every 10 alerts were linked to prevention situations, that is, facts or suspicious behaviors that could lead to crimes,' the document states. Regarding alerts for already committed crimes, authorities emphasized that they represented a significantly lower percentage, while medical and civil emergencies completed the system's usage scheme. Another point raised in the report is that a decrease in preventable crimes in the areas where the Cordobeses en Alerta system operates was charted: between March 2024 and December 2025, a 46.2% reduction was registered, going from 1,891 monthly events to just over 1,000. 'The downward trend would be associated with a combination of factors, including the strengthening of prevention strategies, greater community articulation, and the early detection of risk situations,' they concluded.
