National Senator for Córdoba Luis Juez confirmed this Wednesday his departure from the PRO bloc to form the 'Civic Front' monoblock, which will be part of the 'La Libertad Avanza' (LLA) interbloc. With this move, the ruling coalition's contingent in the Senate will grow to 21 members, making it the second minority in the upper house. The decision was communicated after Juez's visit to the office of the new libertarian bloc leader, Patricia Bullrich. According to high parliamentary sources accessed by Agencia Noticias Argentina, the Córdoba native's decision is driven by his need to get closer to the Government with the ultimate goal of running for governor of his province in 2027 as the ruling national coalition's candidate. Following Juez's departure, the PRO bloc is reduced to just three members: Martín Goerling Lara, Victoria Hualay, and Andrea Cristina. Due to his differences with Mauricio Macri's strategy, the Córdoba senator had already resigned from the presidency of the yellow bloc in January of this year, which was the first step towards his definitive break with PRO. At that time, he had already confessed his desire to become Javier Milei's candidate for governor in 2027.
