In the fourth hearing of the jury trial for the femicide case of Catalina Gutiérrez, the victim's friends described Néstor Aguilar Soto as a person with "toxic" attitudes. Four witnesses, mutual friends of Catalina and the accused, testified in the Criminal and Correctional Chamber of 11th Nomination of Córdoba.
Aylén Fernández stated that Soto exhibited a very "demanding" attitude towards the Architecture student, creating a bond considered "toxic" because Catalina often felt obliged to please him. She highlighted that when Catalina started a relationship with Ezequiel García, Soto became upset, feeling that he was being left out, which caused discomfort for Catalina.
On the other hand, Catalina Rizzi, another friend of Catalina and the alleged femicide, mentioned that Soto did not like to meet in groups but preferred to be alone with one or two people. She added that he often compared her to Catalina and another mutual friend, Ornella Beltramo.
Aldana Riquelme, a childhood friend of Soto until high school, expressed that she had suffered bullying from him during those years. Furthermore, she pointed out that he also mistreated other people in a derogatory manner.
Tatiana Ceballos, who was a classmate of both at the National University of Córdoba, described the bond between Catalina and Soto as "obsessive" and "controlling." She emphasized that he exerted psychological violence over the group of friends.
The defense attorney for Néstor Aguilar Soto, Ángela Burgos Niño, announced that her client would testify at the next hearing and that closing arguments were still pending. Soto is charged with aggravated homicide due to premeditation and gender-based violence, facing a possible life imprisonment sentence.
