The Justice of Córdoba ruled preventive detention for Candela Salazar, a 27-year-old influencer, and her partner Nicolás Gionco, for their alleged participation in a scam. According to the investigation, it is estimated that at least 11 people were deceived by the couple.
Salazar's arrest occurred at Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella Airport, when she was about to travel to Buenos Aires. She was informed that she was being detained for fraudulent activities carried out with Gionco since 2022.
Authorities indicate that Salazar and her partner convinced their victims to invest money in financial operations related to cryptocurrencies, promising returns between 10% and 12%. It is presumed that the influencer used her social media, where she has 9,000 followers, to attract potential clients with posts about luxurious trips and motivational messages.
After analyzing seized items, it was determined that Salazar's release could pose a risk to the legal process, which is why preventive detention was ordered in Córdoba. This measure was taken due to the seriousness of the pyramid scheme accusations against the influencer.
