In the text, the grandmother details that Francesca Mazza died of "sudden death" while sliding down a water slide into the pool, where she unfortunately arrived already lifeless. Amid the pain, the grandmother also apologized to the travel company and the amusement park for the initial accusations, stating that no one was to blame for what happened. She emphasized that her granddaughter fully enjoyed herself with her friends throughout the trip.

The preliminary autopsy revealed that Francesca suffered a massive heart attack, with no traces of water in her lungs or visible injuries on her body.
