
A tourist from Necochea lost his life while hiking on Mount Champaquí, in the province of Córdoba. Local authorities believe his death occurred naturally after suffering from a health crisis.
The tragic event took place when the 69-year-old man was on an excursion in the highest mountain of the province, accompanied by his partner. Suddenly, he began to feel unwell and ultimately collapsed, leading to a call to the local emergency service.
Mount Champaquí, with a summit that reaches 2,790 meters in height, is a very popular destination that attracts thousands of people annually in search of reaching the peak and enjoying the panoramic views. During the hike, it is possible to appreciate the native flora and other characteristic natural elements of the area.
Despite being attended to and quickly transferred to Villa Dolores Hospital, the efforts of the doctors to stabilize the tourist proved unsuccessful. According to reports from the Villa Dolores Departmental Police, the health crisis occurred when the man was in an area known as Los Molles during the hiking practice.
The local newspaper El Once has announced that an investigation has been initiated to determine the exact causes that led to the death of the tourist from Necochea.
