Approximately four months after the tragic incident, Néstor's mother, Jeannette Soto, broke the silence in local media. In an emotional interview, she confessed that she would have liked to afford private therapy for her son to prevent the tragedy. Jeannette lamented the lack of help for Néstor, mentioning his affected mental health.
In her statements, Jeannette defended her son's character, describing him as an excellent student, friend, son, and nephew. Despite the horrific circumstances, she highlighted Néstor's good qualities and emphasized the difficulties she faces as a single mother.
