Buenos Aires, December 7 (NA) -- A 30-year-old man, allegedly responsible for a serious case of gender-based and family violence, was arrested on Sunday morning in the city of Córdoba following an extensive search operation. The arrest came after he attacked his partner and fractured the arm of his six-month-old child.

The incident shocked the community on Saturday when it became known that the baby had to be urgently transferred to the Children's Hospital. The subject fled and was at large with an arrest warrant for several hours until he was finally apprehended.

Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that everything would have happened in the Villa Urquiza neighborhood, when the man “had a violent argument with the woman during which he repeatedly hit her”. Police officers and emergency services went to the scene, confirmed the severity of the injuries, and transferred the child to the medical center for immediate attention.

After the complaint, the Justice issued an arrest warrant for the man, who fled before the arrival of the police. Spokespersons for the case confirmed at that time that the man “would be a drug user”, which motivated police teams to begin their search in different sectors of the city and surroundings.

Finally, the arrest occurred at the intersection of Del Carmen Boulevard and Dean Funes, in the Alto Alberdi neighborhood. The detainee was transferred to a police station and made available to the Family and Gender Violence Prosecutor's Office of the 4th shift, under the charge of Dr.

During the attack, according to information provided by the Force, a kick from the individual “would have hit the child, causing the fracture”. After the violent episode, the aggressor “threw the woman to the floor and continued to attack her”, managing the victim to escape the house to ask for help.
