Journalist and writer Esteban Mirol revealed in an interview on Radio Rivadavia that he was a victim of sexual abuse by a supposed heterosexual when he was only 7 years old. He decided to make his story public motivated by the statements of President Javier Milei, who linked homosexuality with pedophilia in a speech at the Davos Forum.

"A man who lived his entire life as heterosexual, with a family and children... They are pedophiles," were Milei's words that impacted Mirol and prompted him to share his experience. Mirol considered it unfair to associate homosexuality with crime and decided to speak about his childhood suffering to debunk that erroneous connection.

In the account, Mirol emphasized that he was able to react immediately and tell his parents what happened, who acted decisively to protect him. He highlighted the importance of his family's support in the process of overcoming the trauma suffered. "It was a relative, my father almost killed him," he expressed, recalling his parent's swift reaction to confront the aggressor.

The journalist emphasized the need to eradicate the stigmatization towards the LGBTQ+ community and strongly rejected the claims linking sexual orientation with the commission of crimes. In this context, Mirol stressed the seriousness of equating gender ideology with child abuse, considering that in its most extreme forms, it constitutes a form of violence against minors.
