Woman suffers acid attack in Córdoba

A man attempted to murder his ex-wife during the early hours of this Monday by throwing acid at her in the Villa El Libertador neighborhood of Córdoba city. As a result of this act, the 38-year-old victim is currently hospitalized with serious burns.

The woman was at her sister's house when the 47-year-old attacker arrived. After having a conversation, they both left the house together. It was then that a neighbor alerted the woman's sister that the alleged attacker had thrown a corrosive liquid on her, causing serious injuries to her body.

Passersby immediately helped to take the woman to the Príncipe de Asturias Hospital, where it was confirmed that she had burns on her chest, abdomen, and face. Subsequently, she was transferred to the Burn Institute. Despite having second and third-degree burns on 8% of her body, local media reported that her condition is no longer life-threatening.

So far, the attacker has not been arrested. On the other hand, the firefighters confirmed that the chemical used in the attack is a highly corrosive substance. It's worth noting that the victim did not have a panic button or a restraining order against the attacker.
