A nurse from the Materno Neonatal Hospital in Córdoba testified in the jury trial regarding the deaths of five babies and mentioned that Brenda Agüero, the suspect, was an "excellent student" with a desire to move to pediatrics. Viviana Martínez, a delegate of the Public Employees Union, shared that the accused's goal was to be in Neonatology, and she was Agüero's teacher during her training.
Martínez highlighted Agüero's academic quality both in theory and practice, mentioning her interest in working in pediatrics. The witness recalled a WhatsApp conversation in which the accused mentioned a message from a doctor praising her efficiency and the possibility of being transferred to Neonatology due to her observation of critical situations in newborns.
The delegate also shared details about a particular case involving a baby with a leg injury inside an incubator in 2022. After speaking with an anesthesiologist who described the situation as "terrifying," Martínez expressed her concerns about Agüero's behavior.
During her testimony before the court, Martínez emphasized Agüero's skill in medication calculations, a skill valued by her colleagues at the hospital. The witness reported that upon learning of the babies' deaths, she spoke with the hospital director to understand the details of the tragic events, facing an evasive initial response.
