Trial in Córdoba for the Death of Babies in the Neonatal Hospital

The trial for the death of five babies at the Neonatal Hospital in Córdoba continued with testimonies from Justine B. and Yasmín B., mothers of babies who survived the introduction of insulin and potassium between March and June 2022. Justine expressed her distress in recounting that her daughter was discharged with a high level of potassium in her blood without clear explanations. She stated that they told her that her baby had a heart murmur and now fears future health problems.

Yasmín shared her experience, indicating that her son was born in good health but was soon taken to intensive care without detailed explanations about what had happened. Both mothers recognized nurse Brenda Agüero and pointed out the presence of needle marks on their children's bodies. Justine recalled the moment she saw her baby freezing and with purple nails, while Yasmín detailed the lack of information about her son's condition.

During the testimonies, both mothers expressed their pain and confusion over what occurred. Justine, visibly affected, called for justice and truth to clarify the events. The trial, which is expected to continue until mid-June due to the number of witnesses, has Brenda Agüero as the main accused. In the hearing, the mothers lamented the lack of information and the treatment received from the medical staff at the Neonatal Hospital in Córdoba, where the tragic events took place.

In another session of the trial, Brisa M., mother of one of the deceased babies, testified about the needle marks her daughter had on her back and the presence of blood on her clothing. She recalled that the former director of the hospital informed her about the need for an autopsy due to a 'questionable death.' The legal process continues as the families of the victims seek answers about what happened at the medical center.
