In a statement accessed by the Argentine News Agency, it was reported that the rainfall recorded over the past 24 hours left significant accumulations in numerous points across Córdoba province, with values in some cases far exceeding the usual averages for this time of year. According to updated data from this Friday, the highest readings were concentrated in the central, northern, and western areas of the province. The highest value was measured in Agua de las Piedras (Pinto River Basin), where 170 millimeters accumulated in one day. The most affected cities were: El Durazno-Tanti with 130 mm, Villa del Totoral with 128.8 mm, Pampa del Gato (Santa Catalina basin) reaching 126.8 mm, Tanti (EDAR) with 124.4 mm, Los Hornillos with 119.8 mm, Ascochinga-La Cumbre with 115 mm, Altas Cumbres reaching 114.6 mm, Cosquín with an accumulation of 108.2 mm, La Cumbre (water plant) with values close to 85 mm, Tinoco with 106.4 mm, Rayo Cortado with 105.4 mm, Colonia Caroya exceeding 89.4 mm, Bouwer with 86.4 mm, and Conlara, Colanchanga, and Capilla de los Remedios, where rainfall ranged between 84 and 88 millimeters. “Authorities are maintaining permanent monitoring of the hydrometeorological situation, especially in basins and mountainous areas, due to the possibility of sudden rises and localized flooding,” the statement highlights. Given the unstable situation, the population is advised to take extreme precautions, avoid driving through fords and affected rural roads, and stay informed through official channels. Due to the storm, the opening night of the traditional National Festival of Doma and Folklore in Jesús María had to be canceled, although it is expected that the event will proceed without issues on Friday.
