Milei: Argentina has a chance to be great again

President Javier Milei stated that Argentina is experiencing 'a great opportunity to be great again.' He confirmed that he will not change the economic course and promised that inflation will soon begin to fall. Milei also expressed support for his Chief of Cabinet and criticized political opponents.

President Javier Milei stated on Monday that Argentina is experiencing 'a great opportunity to be great again' and that his administration is working to make the country 'the freest in the world' during a speech to kick off activities at the Córdoba Stock Exchange.

'Except for some cases of countries that were destroyed and rebuilt, no one has achieved what we have achieved in such a short time,' he said.

'The inflation we have is high, but we come from the worst place in hell,' he said and added: 'I am not going to change the way of doing economic policy. Therefore, we will continue on this path that will make Argentina great again.'

The president was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the Chief of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni, in a show of support for the official following the controversy over his wife's trip on the official delegation to New York.

'We have to govern against the rhetoric of this horde of lazy people who only know how to make good arguments to touch the sensitivity of human beings and be able to continue living off them as parasites,' the head of state expressed and emphasized that 'we are here to steal that flag from them and bring it back to free enterprise capitalism.'

He also renewed his criticism of Kirchnerism by stating that 'they are willing to break everything and do any kind of barbarity just to see you in a bad light because they are not in power.'

He also highlighted the measure of lifting the exchange rate controls.

There were no mentions to the Libra case, about which new evidence has been emerging in recent days.

Regarding the economy, he stated that 'we remain convinced that by the month of August, inflation could start at zero.'

'Were we going to go to a 15,000% annual hyperinflation? But we said it was unfair and immoral, and we opened the controls,' he asserted.

'Am I going to violate freedom? It would have been much easier for me to keep it, it would have been much easier for me to get through 2025 if I had literally shit on your freedom.'
