President Javier Milei signed on Monday that Argentina is going through “a great opportunity to be great again” and stated that his administration is working to make the country “the freest in the world”. During a speech at the start of activities at the Córdoba Stock Exchange, he said: “With the exception of some countries that were destroyed and rebuilt, no one has achieved what we have achieved in such a short time.” Milei also emphasized his administration's measure of lifting currency controls, which he called “unfair and immoral”. He expressed confidence that inflation could start at zero in August, noting that without price controls, the country would have fallen into hyperinflation of 15,000% annually. The president also criticized the Kirchnerists, stating that they “are willing to break everything and do any kind of barbarity just to see you badly, because they are not in power”.
