Argentina Airports, in coordination with the Airport National System Regulatory Body (Orsna) and the Secretariat of Transportation, has planned and will launch a project to expand the terminal's capacity.
Córdoba is a strategic regional hub with a strong increase in passenger traffic: between January and October of this year, 2,621,415 passengers passed through (1,869,970 on domestic flights and 751,445 on international flights), representing a 12.06% growth compared to the same period in 2024.
"This not only allows us to enhance and improve the service quality for those who transit through, but also enables us to plan for growth to add greater connectivity to Córdoba," stated officials.
CEO of Argentina Airports, Daniel Ketchibachian, highlighted that the investments aim to provide terminals like the one in Córdoba with the necessary infrastructure to handle a sustained growth in passengers and operations with more frequencies and airlines.
Argentina Airports presented a strategic works plan for the Córdoba International Airport, Ambrosio Taravella, which will double its operational capacity to keep up with the growth in air traffic, boost the regional economy, and improve the user experience.
The new infrastructure promises a more comfortable, safe, and efficient travel experience for all users.
The departure area will be expanded: domestic from 960 m² to 2,600 m², and international by 280 m², reaching a total area of 1,800 m². Additionally, 7 new check-in counters and 3 new boarding gates, including two remote gates, will be added.
The Córdoba airport was one of the fastest-growing in terms of passengers and the addition of new airlines and frequencies. Last year, a total of 2,865,012 passengers were recorded (2,249,324 domestic + 615,688 international).
The works were announced at an event at the provincial government headquarters, attended by Governor Martín Llaryora; the CEO of Argentina Airports, Daniel Ketchibachian; and other officials.
"We are committed to carrying out all the necessary infrastructure works to provide airlines and passengers with the best services and well-being," said representatives of Argentina Airports.
The Cargo Terminal of Taravella has consolidated its growth and international connectivity. In 2025, cargo handling volumes saw a significant increase: imports grew by 42%, and exports by 14% compared to 2024.
With this strategic investment, the Córdoba International Airport is consolidating itself as a modern, functional, and secure terminal, perfectly prepared to accompany the sustained growth in passenger flow, boosting air connectivity and the province's economy.
