The province of Córdoba has reduced traffic fines. This measure coincides with a period of increased vehicular circulation and aims to alleviate the costs associated with road sanctions. On Monday, January 12th, the mountainous province updated the value of the Fixed Fine Unit (UF), which is the basis for calculating penalties for offending users. According to Argentine News Agency, the change responds to the drop in the price of a liter of YPF Super gasoline. In this case, violations can include running a red light, driving against traffic, or exceeding the speed limit. A maximum of 20 points can be lost. The highest UF units are for alcohol-positive offenses or destruction of infrastructure, ranging from 1,200 to 2,000, meaning the values are also high, starting at $1,957,200 and costing up to $3,262,000. In this way, the province of Córdoba welcomes tourists in the second half of the month during the 2026 summer season and begins the year with a favorable piece of news for its neighbors and visitors, users of streets, routes, highways, and motorways, helping them to take care of their wallets. In this case, it is good to emphasize that rules exist to be complied with for one main reason: to protect the citizen in terms of road safety. Fines for speeding range between $326,400 and $652,800. In this sense, the UF was located 3.8% down, going from $1,696 to $1,631. This is Córdoba, where the traffic police enforce the law. One of them is smoking while driving. Serious offenses: The UF ranges from 100 to 200, representing costs of $163,100 to $326,400, and the point loss is between 2 and 5, for offenses such as traveling with the lights off. Very serious offenses: The UF is set between 200 and 400, with fines to pay between $326,400 and $652,800. In addition, they result in the loss of up to 2 points on the license. In this way, the measure directly impacts the values that drivers must face for different offenses.
