Mercado Libre Expands Logistics Network in Córdoba

The company opened two new distribution centers in Río Cuarto and Villa María, creating over 400 jobs and improving logistics for thousands of users.

Mercado Libre is expanding its logistics network in the province of Córdoba with two new distribution centers, in Río Cuarto and Villa María, as part of its national expansion plan. Governor Martín Llaryora met with Mercado Libre Argentina's Vice President, Adrián Ecker, on Tuesday to formalize the installation. According to the company, the opening of these centers will generate over 400 direct and indirect jobs. "Through these centers, local businesses can access our logistics network to sell their products across the country," the company stated. Each center will process around 8,000 packages daily, enabling 24-hour delivery for thousands of users in Villa María, Río Cuarto, and surrounding areas. This initiative strengthens public-private partnerships in Córdoba and encourages the establishment of high-profile companies in the region. The meeting was also attended by Matías Fernández Díaz, Director of Government Relations; Federico Alexay, Director of Transport; Carolina Pascarelli, Communications Manager; and Gabriel Díaz Zolorzalo, Government Relations Manager for the company. Ecker highlighted the importance of the Córdoba market for the firm. "The province is truly a significant place because a large portion of the platform's consumption comes from Córdoba," he specified, noting that they currently deliver over a million packages per month in the province. The new centers will boost both local consumption and commercial activity. "Much of the movement of these packages will occur through these logistics hubs. This will also enhance not only consumption in Córdoba but also local commerce," he added. "We have the great satisfaction and challenge of welcoming a company of this logistical importance to continue growing throughout the productive south," stated Accastello. He emphasized that Mercado Libre's decision "marks a before and after" for the province, valuing its creative talent, available infrastructure, and the impact of the tax reform driven by the provincial government. The new centers, located at strategic points in Córdoba, will improve the logistics experience for users and expand the reach of products sold on the platform. The new facilities will also allow for package reclassification and route optimization, creating a more efficient network. Minister of Government Manuel Calvo praised the announcement, stating that Córdoba is a "hub for generating opportunities in terms of attracting new ventures." He added that such investments are explained by the province's business climate, available infrastructure, local talent, and "the tax reductions recently announced by Governor Llaryora." Also attending were the mayors of Río Cuarto, Guillermo De Rivas; Villa María, Eduardo Accastello; and the Minister of Community Bonding, Daniel Pastore. De Rivas celebrated the company's arrival, linking the announcement to investments in regional road and service infrastructure. Furthermore, it is expected to impact the growth of over 17,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs in Córdoba who are part of the platform's commercial ecosystem.
