Economic Changes and Dollar Variations in Córdoba

During the last year, the official dollar in Argentina has experienced significant volatility. In the last week, this volatility has been 7.73%, while throughout the year it has reached 14.08%. This behavior suggests greater stability in the last period.

In this time, the highest quote for the official dollar has been $1,230, and the lowest $1,052.5. Regarding the dollar card rate, those who make purchases abroad with a credit card must pay the official dollar value plus a 30% corresponding to tax perceptions. There is an option to pay for these purchases with dollars acquired at the official rate or MEP to avoid this perception.

Recently, the Central Bank of Argentina eliminated currency restrictions for individuals, removing the monthly limit of $200 for buying dollars in the Unified and Free Exchange Market (MULC), as well as other requirements that restricted the acquisition of foreign currencies.

At the market close this Friday, the official dollar reached $1,190, showing a variability of 0.85% compared to the opening. Currently, there is an increase in the demand for dollars, which has led to a slight increase in the quote for the second consecutive day, which could reflect some uncertainty in the market.

The new scheme for purchasing dollars at the official price contemplates the possibility of acquiring foreign currency without limit through electronic purchases in home banking or banking apps, at the counter with a balance in the bank account, or in cash in pesos up to $100 monthly by presenting a sworn statement certifying that this amount has not been exceeded in other entities.
