Buenos Aires, March 30 (NA) – A police chief from Río Negro province has been removed from the force after crashing his car while intoxicated into a guardrail on Route 7. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when Sergio Casagrande, who served as the head of the Road Safety area in Cipolletti, crashed his white Suzuki Fun into a guardrail on Route 7, near calle 3, reported the Argentine News Agency. After the accident, authorities were notified, who arrived at the scene and confirmed that the officer was intoxicated. A breathalyzer test was administered, which yielded a positive result of 1.51 grams of alcohol per liter of blood. Following the test, he was taken to the Centenario Hospital for the necessary checks. However, when officers approached to take his statement, they were informed that Casagrande had left the hospital without being discharged, according to the Rio Negro media. With knowledge of the events, authorities confirmed that he has been removed from his post and internal administrative and contraventional proceedings have been initiated.
