A 41-year-old man was charged with attacking a police officer with a bottle in the city of Cipolletti, Río Negro province. The incident occurred on Sunday morning during a brawl between two groups in Plaza San Martín, according to information from the Public Prosecutor's Office, which was accessed by the Argentine News Agency. Officers from the Río Negro Police arrived at the scene to calm the situation, but one of the participants used a bottle to inflict facial wounds on a sergeant. The victim received medical attention at the emergency room of a private clinic. Meanwhile, the intervening prosecutor filed charges against the accused for the crime of "assault on authority, aggravated in a concurrent ideal with aggravated injuries, as they were committed against a member of the police forces while performing his duties." Additionally, it was requested that the accused, who had been released, report monthly to a local police station until the trial begins, which the judge approved the charges and the precautionary measure.
