A man was charged with locking up and beating his wife in the province of Río Negro. According to information published on the official website of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, to which the Argentine News Agency had access, the Decentralized Prosecutor's Office in Catriel brought charges against the accused for the crimes of unlawful deprivation of liberty and aggravated injuries due to the relationship and for being committed in a gender context. The victim was allegedly locked up by the alleged aggressor, who prevented her from leaving the premises despite her refusal to stay. The accused caused her minor injuries, threatened her, and held her captive at the residence. Meanwhile, the defendant fell asleep, and the victim took the opportunity to escape. The presiding judge set a four-month deadline for the investigation, ordered a restraining order, and prohibited any form of contact between the alleged perpetrator and the complainant.
